At the “MARUM – Center for Marine Environmental Sciences” at the University of Bremen we offer within the project Sensitivity of cold-water corals to environmental change (part of the EU-Horizon 2020 Project ATLAS – A Trans-Atlantic Assessment and Deep-Water Ecosystem-based Spatial management Plan for Europe) the following position - under the condition of job release: a full Postdoc (TV-L 13) position for a period of 2 years starting at October 1, 2017.

Applicants are required to have a PhD in  Paleoceanography  or a related field.

Within this project, the successful candidate will investigate sedimentary records with paleoceanographic methods (stable isotopes and Mg/Ca analyses on benthic foraminifera, grain sizes, etc.) from various cold-water coral sites in order to define environmental changes in relation to major changes in past cold-water coral proliferation.

The position is a fixed-term contract for the duration of two years on the basis of the Part-time and Fixed-Term Contracts Act (TzBfG). A fixed-term employment according to the Part-time and Fixed-Term Contracts Act is only possible if you have not previously been employed by the City of Bremen. This does not apply to periods of training / apprenticeship.
